The First 25 Years

The TAYE Manufacturing Company is established in 1975. Starting small we make musical accessories for local stores. We focus on quality and value - responding to the musician by building instruments that are attractive, reliable and affordable - a pleasure to play and own. TAYE passionately embraces this concept and it becomes the driving force in our mission statement.
By 1999 the family-owned company is a large, self-contained manufacturing facility and a key supplier to leading drum manufacturers and custom drum builders worldwide. We make our own drum shells, hardware and drum heads. Our paint facility produces spectacular lacquer wood finishes. We even do our own chrome plating – in fact, we do it all.
After 25 years of evolution and development, we are ready to establish our own drum line –
TAYE Drums is born.

The Next 25 Years

Ray Ayotte, drum industry veteran, joins the company. The TAYE brand name and distinctive logo becomes an internationally registered trademark. New concepts in drum making are developed with a focus not only on making drums better, but “making better drums for less money”.
* 2001 TAYE Drums establishes distribution centers in the USA, Canada, Europe, South America and South East Asia, and introduces four complete new TAYE brand model lines – StudioMaple, TourPro, RockPro and Spotlight.
* 2002 A fifth line, ProX is introduced. Model styles and size configurations for all lines are expanded.
* 2003 sees the introduction of the Taye GoKit, a compact drumset for the professional drummer, and StainlessSteel Snare drums in 7 sizes and StainlessSteel drumset Timbales in 4 sizes.
